Hey, this is an open thread for Gameplay related ideas.

Anything and everything related to that can go here =D

I'm gonna outline some of the things we've talked about already so I don't forget, feel free to add more or talk about theses ones:

  • Physics Based Gamplay
    • Character Rigging (For animation and movement, reduces the required art assets as well)
    • Ragdolls
    • Damage is based off of physics (Heavier weapon = more damage, if the player falls on someone damage to both, etc)
    • 'Entities' that react under certain conditions (Think Prefabs in Sandbox 2 editor)
  • Combat
    • Dynamic
    • Free, in world combat, NOT turn based
    • Involving lots of movement
    • Player Skill > Character Skill
  • Inventory
    • Inventory items have a weight (That actually effects the character in the Physics Engine
    • No numeric limit of items, limit by weight instead
  • Levels
    • Unique Levels (Through level design and Shaders)
    • No 'floating' platforms, everything should either be connected to the ground, or look connected to the backgroun
    • Placement of 'Entities', terrain, background, regions (for scripting), shaders, water, and a lot more!
  • Character Creation
  • Story
  • Multiplayer
    • Co-op
    • Join in session
    • Seamless mix between single and multiplayer. What happens in multiplayer affects your single player, and vice-versa
That's everything off the top of my head..
